A NOTE FROM ASHLEY

Leave planning should not
feel like another full-time job.

You are getting ready to welcome a child. You should not have to decode a benefits handbook alone.

Hi, I’m Ashley. I’m a mom of two with nearly 20 years of experience in employee benefits. I created Parental Leave Guide to make a complicated season feel a little more manageable.

There is a lot of information about parental leave, but finding a clear answer to your own question can still be difficult. Who pays you? What protects your job? Which form goes where? What happens if the baby comes early?

Practical answers, without the overwhelm.

This site brings state-program information, planning tools, and everyday leave questions into one place. The goal is to help you understand what to ask and what to do next, whether you are welcoming a baby, adopting, or becoming a foster parent.

A guide, not a promise of benefits.

We distinguish wage replacement from job protection and point you to official program sources. Your employer, agency, or insurer makes the eligibility decision. The tools help organize your plan; they do not file claims or determine entitlement.

Start wherever you are.

If you have five minutes, find your state. If you already have approvals, map your dates. If one confusing detail is keeping you up, search the journal. You do not have to solve every part of leave planning at once.
