What could you be paid?

The formula replaces up to 100% of wages for some lower earners. For benefit years beginning on or after June 28, 2026, the weekly range is $70.51 to $1,692.16, subject to program calculation rules. Earlier claim years use the applicable earlier limits.

Who may qualify?

Generally at least $1,000 in Oregon earnings in the base or alternate base year, current covered employment and a qualifying reason. Self-employed workers must elect coverage and satisfy its conditions.

What protects your job?

Job protection generally begins after 90 consecutive days with the same employer. Small-employer restoration rules can differ when the original position no longer exists.

Recovery leave and bonding

Up to 12 total weeks for family, medical and safe leave; up to two extra weeks may apply for pregnancy-related health limitations. Oregon Family Leave Act and other laws have different coverage rules.

Notice, dates, and deadlines

For foreseeable leave, generally give the employer 30 days’ notice. The program permits leave in whole days or weeks. Verify your benefit-year balance and filing window in Frances Online.

How to apply

Apply through Frances Online unless an approved equivalent plan applies. Gather wage information, leave dates and proof of birth or placement. Ask how PTO top-ups must be reported.

Before you choose your dates

Ask for one written timeline showing the source of pay and the protection for each part of your absence. Include prior leave used, any waiting period, employer top-up rules, health-premium payments, and the first scheduled workday after leave. The maximum listed above is not a personal approval.

Your application folder

  • Employer contact, work location, hire date, wage records and schedule.
  • Proof of birth or placement accepted by the program.
  • Medical certification only when the requested leave reason requires it.
  • Proposed dates, any split schedule, and the employer’s notice confirmation.
  • Submitted forms, receipt numbers, decisions, and appeal deadlines.

After approval, check whether continuing certifications or weekly claims are required. Report work, other payments and date changes accurately. A state payment approval does not automatically update the employer’s absence record.
